Febno Technologies publishes e-invoicing guidance for businesses in Oman and the UAE

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – October 31, 2026 – Febno Technologies has published updated online resources covering electronic invoicing requirements in Oman and the United Arab Emirates, as businesses in both markets prepare for regulatory changes scheduled to take effect in 2027.

The resources address the transition from conventional invoicing methods to structured electronic invoice exchange, including the technical requirements, implementation timelines and integration considerations for businesses using enterprise resource planning (ERP), accounting and billing software.

In Oman, the Tax Authority's Fawtara electronic invoicing programme is scheduled to introduce mandatory implementation in phases. Under the current published timeline, VAT-registered businesses with annual supplies exceeding OMR 5 million are required to implement e-invoicing from 1 April 2027. Other VAT-registered businesses are scheduled to follow from 1 October 2027.

The system requires invoices to be generated in a prescribed structured electronic format rather than relying on conventional PDF documents or scanned invoices. Businesses must also consider the integration of their accounting or ERP systems with accredited service providers responsible for electronic invoice exchange and reporting.

Febno Technologies has published an Oman e-invoicing implementation guide outlining the Fawtara framework, implementation requirements and ERP integration considerations. The resource covers systems including Odoo and Zoho Books, as well as the preparation of invoice data, system configuration, testing and service provider integration.

The company has also published an article examining the 2027 Oman e-invoicing deadlines and applicable implementation dates. The article explains the OMR 5 million annual supplies threshold and the distinction between the two implementation dates.

In the UAE, the electronic invoicing framework introduces a phased implementation schedule for businesses and government entities. Businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more were required to appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 30 October 2026, with implementation scheduled from 1 January 2027. Businesses below that revenue threshold have a subsequent appointment deadline of 31 March 2027 and an implementation date of 1 July 2027.

The UAE framework uses structured electronic invoice data and an accredited service provider network for invoice exchange and tax reporting. Businesses therefore need to assess their existing accounting systems, invoice data and integration requirements ahead of their applicable implementation dates.

Febno Technologies' UAE e-invoicing information and implementation resource outlines the framework and the technical considerations involved in preparing systems such as Odoo, Zoho Books and other ERP platforms for the requirements.

Febno Technologies is headquartered in Dubai and operates across the UAE, India, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kenya. The company provides ERP implementation and business technology services, including Odoo and Zoho solutions, accounting software integration and custom software development.

The company acts as an ERP implementation partner, supporting businesses with system configuration, integration, testing and preparation for electronic invoicing. Accredited service provider functions remain the responsibility of providers approved by the relevant tax authorities.
