SINGAPORE, 18 September 2026 – NODAL Vision Systems Pte. Ltd., a computer vision company incorporated in Singapore on 10 September 2026, today launched NODAL M1, a portable multi-camera system that records human movement in three dimensions. The company said the system is designed to collect motion data outside fixed laboratories, including in clinics, research facilities, sports venues and robotics development sites.
Three-dimensional motion capture is used in biomechanics research, clinical gait analysis, animation and the development of robots that learn from human movement. According to NODAL, most high-accuracy systems in use today are permanent installations that require a dedicated room and trained operators.
NODAL M1 consists of battery-powered wireless camera nodes that are mounted on tripods and controlled from a laptop through a wireless dongle. The cameras use global shutters and record at 30 to 120 frames per second. The system supports markerless tracking and, with infrared-capable sensors, marker-based tracking. The company's software includes guided camera calibration, an editor for cleaning and exporting data, and the option to process recordings on local hardware or in the cloud.
NODAL said it will begin with clinical movement analysis in Singapore before expanding into sports performance and robotics training data. The company said it has early design and research partners in the United States and Germany and is in discussions on distribution in the United Kingdom.

Lu previously deployed markerless tracking at Sony/Hawk-Eye for Major League Baseball, the NBA and the NHL, and worked on orthopedic biomechanics research at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Waterloo.

NODAL said pricing for NODAL M1 starts at US$600 per camera, with hardware and software modules sold separately.
