NEW DELHI, India — ZFour Technology has released a geo-fencing feature for its HRMS platform, ZFour HRMS, allowing organizations to verify employee attendance based on location.
The feature lets administrators define geographic boundaries for specific work sites within the ZFour HRMS admin dashboard. Boundaries can be set individually for each branch or work location an organization operates. When an employee checks in or out using the ZFour HRMS mobile application, the system records the employee's location at that moment and compares it against the defined boundary, marking the check-in as verified or flagged depending on whether it falls within range.
Administrators can view this data through a dashboard that filters records by branch, department, shift type, and individual employee. Each employee record includes check-in and check-out timestamps, along with location data captured at the time of the attendance event. The dashboard also includes configurable detection settings, allowing administrators to adjust the time window used to confirm an employee's location before an attendance record is finalized.
Attendance data captured through the geo-fencing feature is recorded within the same system used for leave and payroll processing, so administrators do not need to transfer attendance records between separate tools.
"The feature verifies location at the point of check-in, which is the specific gap we were addressing," said a ZFour Technology representative. "Organizations with field or multi-site staff had been tracking this manually or not at all."
Organizations that employ field-based staff, such as sales representatives, delivery personnel, or employees working across multiple branch locations, have typically relied on manual reporting or unverified check-ins to record attendance for these roles. The geo-fencing feature is intended to provide administrators with a verified attendance record for employees who are not based at a single fixed location.
The geo-fencing feature is available immediately to existing ZFour HRMS customers as part of the platform's attendance module, accessible through both the web dashboard and the ZFour HRMS mobile application on iOS and Android devices. No additional setup fee or separate subscription is required for existing customers to access the feature.
