Farmington, Michigan — October 2026 — Novel Insights by Christina Turin LLC, a publisher based in Farmington, Michigan, has announced that it will publish a new edition of The Porcupine Man: Narcissism: Its Development & Consequences, & Parental Alienation on October 20, 2026. The book is a work of fiction by clinical and forensic psychologist Christine M. Turin, PhD, and examines the development of narcissistic behavior, its effects on families, and the practice of parental alienation.

The novel follows Harrington Bentley Aho, a man raised in a small Minnesota town by a mother who teaches him that he is superior to others. In adulthood, these patterns develop into manipulation, gaslighting, and emotional abuse. After his marriage ends, he attempts to turn his children against their mother. The book traces the origins of these behaviors in childhood and their effects across the lifespan, including the impact on children and the process of recovery from this type of trauma.

Dr. Turin has more than forty years of experience in clinical and forensic psychology. She spent thirty years as a staff psychologist at Feliciana Forensic Facility, Louisiana's state hospital for mentally ill offenders, and has provided expert testimony in capital murder cases in Louisiana. Her private practice has focused on survivors of abuse and, currently, on recovery from trauma related to parental alienation, adult child estrangement, and narcissistic abuse. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Louisiana State University. The protagonist of The Porcupine Man is a composite drawn from cases encountered during her clinical career.
