Tech startup Niguro officially announced its platform transformation today in Biratchowk, rebranding from its original identity, Niriv, to deploy Nepal’s first independent web search engine and digital portal. Originally registered in 2019 under the brand name Niriv, the Koshi Province–based company completed a multi-year development cycle to construct a localized web crawler and indexing architecture designed to process Nepali language content and regional data structures. The rebranding marks the official public transition to the new domain platform.
The core infrastructure combines custom web indexing algorithms with real-time news curation, compiling updates from registered domestic media outlets into an ad-filtered feed. Additionally, the platform incorporates a commercial directory index, titled Niguro Biz, which categorizes local enterprises, service providers, and public institutions across Nepal's seven provinces. To support regional connectivity constraints, engineers built the system using a low-bandwidth interface designed to minimize page load latency on mobile networks. Supplemental tools integrated into the homepage include a digital Bikram Sambat calendar, local weather telemetry, and daily astronomical charts.
"Niguro was developed to establish local web indexing infrastructure within Nepal rather than relying exclusively on external search engines," said Founder and Chief Executive Officer Yukesh Chaudhary. "The primary technical objective is to deliver structured local search results, regional news aggregation, and business listings through a single standardized interface."
Headquartered in Biratchowk, Koshi Province, Niguro is a digital technology company specializing in web indexing, data aggregation, and localized software utilities. Further details regarding platform operations and commercial directory listings are available through official company communications.
