Tomedes has announced the launch of the MachineTranslation.com Connector, a new integration that brings its 22-model AI translation consensus system directly into Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI assistants that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Until now, asking an AI assistant like Claude or ChatGPT to translate text meant getting a single model's answer, with no way to check whether a term had been mistranslated, a register had shifted, or an idiom had been flattened. The model itself has no way to flag its own errors, leaving users to simply trust the output unless they happen to speak the target language themselves.
The new Connector changes that by routing translation requests through MachineTranslation.com's SMART consensus system. Instead of relying on one model's output, the Connector runs the request through all 22 models MachineTranslation.com supports in parallel and returns the version the majority agree on, all without the user leaving their chat window.
"We built the Connector because the real question was never whether an AI assistant could translate; it's whether you'd know if it got something wrong. This brings the same verification our platform is built around directly into the tools people already use every day," Ofer Tirosh, CEO of Tomedes, said.
How It Works
The Connector is built on the Model Context Protocol, an open standard created by Anthropic that allows AI assistants to call external tools directly within a conversation. Once connected, a user can simply ask their assistant to translate something, and the request is automatically routed to MachineTranslation.com's servers, checked against all 22 models simultaneously, and returned as a single, consensus-backed answer within the same chat.
Because every model runs in parallel rather than in sequence, the process does not meaningfully slow down the response. According to Tomedes, the underlying SMART consensus approach reduces translation errors by 90% compared to relying on a single AI model.
Setup and Availability
Setup takes about a minute: users open their AI assistant's connector or integration settings, add a custom connector using the URL machinetranslation.com/mcp, and log in with an existing MachineTranslation.com account. The Connector is available to users on any paid MachineTranslation.com plan, including the 24-hour pass, and currently supports Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor, along with any other assistant that supports custom MCP connectors.
The Connector supports the same full language range as the core MachineTranslation.com platform, spanning more than 70 languages from Afrikaans to Zulu.
