Remindoo launches updated workflow management software for UK accounting firms

Remindoo, the practice management platform built for UK accountants, has strengthened its workflow management tools to help firms manage tasks, deadlines and client work in one system ahead of Making Tax Digital quarterly reporting.

Report

London, United Kingdom, 21 October 2026 - Remindoo, the practice management platform for UK accountancy firms, has updated the workflow tools in its software as practices prepare for a busier compliance calendar and the next phase of Making Tax Digital. The update centres on structured, templated working through dedicated workflow management software for accountants.

The update arrives as HMRC brings more taxpayers into digital record keeping and quarterly reporting. Sole traders and landlords with qualifying income above £50,000 must keep digital records and submit quarterly updates from 6 April 2026, with further groups expected to follow in later years, according to HMRC's Making Tax Digital for Income Tax guidance.

The changes reflect the volume of fixed deadlines UK practices work to. A single client can generate VAT returns, payroll filings, confirmation statements, annual accounts and Self Assessment deadlines in one year, each with its own filing date and penalties for late submission. Firms have traditionally tracked these dates in spreadsheets, diaries or email reminders, approaches that depend on individuals keeping them up to date.

At the centre of the system are service templates. A firm builds a template once, setting out the steps, owners and due dates for a recurring service such as year-end accounts, VAT returns, payroll runs or Self Assessment. When a new job starts, the template creates the corresponding tasks automatically, so work is organised in the same way each time and new staff follow the process the firm has set.

Every task carries a named owner and a due date. Managers can filter work by person, status and deadline, and individuals see their own lists without searching through shared inboxes or spreadsheets. When work is reassigned, for example during staff absence, the tasks move with a record of what has been done, so progress does not depend on one person's memory or personal notes.

Deadline tracking runs throughout the platform. Statutory dates for accounts, tax returns, VAT, payroll and confirmation statements are held against each client, and forthcoming deadlines surface in team lists before they fall due. Because the dates sit alongside the tasks that deliver them, managers can see which filings are approaching and whether the underlying work has started.

Recurring work is handled through repeating tasks. Jobs that follow a fixed cycle, such as monthly payroll, quarterly VAT returns and annual accounts, are created automatically in line with each client's schedule and appear in the responsible team member's list with the relevant due date. One-off jobs, such as company formations or tax investigations, are recorded in the same list, so managers reviewing the week ahead see the full workload in one place.

Workflows sit on the client record, alongside documents, emails and anti-money laundering checks, so the history of a job sits with the client rather than in separate systems. Automated reminders prompt clients for outstanding records and information, and replies are stored against the same record, reducing the time staff spend chasing paperwork by email and telephone.

The workflow tools form part of a wider practice management system that also includes a client database, proposals, engagement letters and a secure client portal.

Remindoo was founded by the team behind Accotax Chartered Accountants, a London practice that runs its own client work on the platform. The demands of that practice, together with feedback from other firms using the system, inform how the product is developed.
