Lagos, Nigeria — TESMI Nigeria has invited school proprietors, principals, administrators, counsellors, teachers and other education stakeholders to share information about its #BleedWithDignity youth cohort opportunity with eligible girls in private secondary schools across Lagos State.
The organisation, formally known as Teens Smart Builder Initiative, said the initiative seeks to engage 50 girls aged 13 to 18 in a girl-led advocacy process focused on menstrual health, dignity, safety and the experiences of girls in school environments. Selected participants will have opportunities to contribute their perspectives to discussions and advocacy activities connected to the project.

About the #BleedWithDignity Project
#BleedWithDignity: Centering Girls' Voices for Menstrual Policy Reform in Lagos is a youth-led advocacy initiative by TESMI Nigeria that seeks to strengthen the participation of girls in conversations and policy efforts concerning menstrual health and dignity.
The project focuses on documenting and elevating girls' experiences while creating opportunities for them to engage with relevant stakeholders and contribute to practical recommendations relating to menstrual health, privacy, access to menstrual products, safety and dignity in school environments.
The initiative builds on TESMI Nigeria's work documenting menstrual health challenges among girls in private secondary schools in Lagos and Ogun States. The organisation's 2025 Bleeding in Silence study identified gaps relating to access to private changing spaces, water, sanitation, menstrual products and protection from bullying during menstruation.
Under the project, TESMI Nigeria plans to convene girls through activities including an essay and pitch competition and a Girls' Policy Forum, where participants will contribute to the development of a Menstrual Justice Charter. The project also includes training 20 students as Menstrual Rights Advocates and engagement with education regulators, school authorities, civil society organisations and other relevant stakeholders.
TESMI Nigeria said the project is based on the principle that girls should have meaningful opportunities not only to share their experiences but also to participate in shaping responses to issues that affect them.
