KWT Spider adds a JavaScript rendering audit to version 2.0 of its desktop SEO crawler

A growing share of the web is rendered by JavaScript after the initial page load — and KWT Spider says a lot of that content never makes it into what search engines, or AI agents, actually read

KWT Spider 2.0 Flags What JavaScript Hides from Search and AI

KWT Spider has added a new check to version 2.0 of its desktop SEO crawler that compares a page's raw HTML response against its fully rendered version, identifying content that only appears after JavaScript executes.

The addition responds to a structural gap in how websites are built and how they are read by automated systems. Many modern websites load a portion of their content — product descriptions, article text, navigation elements — through JavaScript after the initial page loads, rather than including it in the server's original HTML response. A browser renders this content automatically, so a human visitor sees a complete page. Automated systems reading the page do not always do the same. Some crawlers execute JavaScript fully, others do so inconsistently or not at all, depending on their configuration.

This distinction has become more relevant as AI systems join search engines in reading and citing web content. Search engine crawlers have handled JavaScript rendering with varying degrees of reliability for several years. Newer AI-focused crawlers, used by AI assistants and answer engines to extract and summarize content, do not uniformly render JavaScript either, and some work primarily from a page's raw HTML response.

KWT Spider 2.0's new check flags pages where a meaningful share of content is present in the rendered version of a page but absent from its raw HTML, and reports what specific content is affected on each flagged page. The check runs as part of a standard site crawl alongside the tool's existing technical checks.

The feature is available now to all KWT Spider 2.0 users at no additional cost.
