Garden State Pet Center Launches "Keeping Pets in Homes" Initiative to Help Families Manage
Rising Pet Care Costs
AUDUBON, NJ – As inflation and rising household expenses continue to impact families across
South Jersey, Garden State Pet Center is launching a new community initiative aimed at helping
pet owners provide quality nutrition for their pets without breaking their budgets.
The "Keeping Pets in Homes" Initiative was created in response to growing concerns about the
financial challenges facing pet owners. Across the country, animal shelters and rescue
organizations continue to report families struggling with the increasing costs of pet ownership,
including food, veterinary care, and everyday supplies.
As part of the program, Garden State Pet Center will donate 1lb of food to a local animal rescue
for every nutrition consultation completed during the month of July. The goal is to support both
pet owners facing financial challenges and local organizations caring for animals in need.
Garden State Pet Center believes education is one of the most powerful tools available to help
families keep their pets healthy and in loving homes.
"Many pet owners assume that high-quality nutrition is out of reach financially, but that's often
not the case," said Victor Santucci Jr., owner of Garden State Pet Center. "When we compare
actual feeding costs, loyalty program savings, and the nutritional value of premium foods, many
families are surprised to learn they can feed a better-quality diet for only a small increase in
daily cost—or sometimes for the same price."

The initiative also highlights the potential long-term value of proper nutrition. While no food can
prevent all health issues, providing pets with high-quality nutrition may support overall wellness
and help owners make proactive choices for their pets' health.
"Our goal is simple," Santucci said. "We want families to know they have options. If someone is
worried about the cost of feeding their pet, we want them to come talk to us before they feel
forced to compromise on nutrition or consider surrendering a beloved family member."
