The update allows businesses to process an entire translation project without returning for each file or language
Tomedes, a professional translation company, has released an update to MachineTranslation.com, its AI translation platform, that allows users to upload multiple files and select multiple target languages within a single session. Previously, each file and each target language required a separate session on the platform.
According to the company, the update was developed in response to usage data and feedback from business users. Businesses using the platform averaged more than seven sessions to complete a single translation project. The company said the repeat sessions were not linked to translation quality or to requests for additional languages or AI models, but to a workflow that handled one file and one language at a time.
One comment came up repeatedly in conversations with business users, according to the company: "I used to come back four or five times just to finish one project."
How the feature works
With the update, users can submit several files and choose several target languages at once. Each file is processed for each selected language by up to 22 independent AI models, and the platform delivers the translation that the majority of the models agree on. Files are returned in their original format, with the layout preserved.
The company cited examples of projects that previously required multiple sessions: a marketing team preparing content for two markets, a legal team sending agreements to international partners, and a brand entering a new region with product listings, help guides and supplier briefs.
"Most businesses using MachineTranslation.com are not thinking about translation," said Ofer Tirosh, CEO of Tomedes. "They are thinking about reaching more people. When they told us the workflow was getting in their way, we listened."
Industry context
Many translation platforms are built around one document, one language and one output per session. Tomedes said this model reflects a period when translation was handled mainly as a specialist task, while businesses now manage multilingual content across several markets, formats and deadlines at the same time.
"The rest of the industry still asks businesses to work around the platform," said Rachelle Garcia, AI Lead at Tomedes. "We think the platform should work around them."
Availability
Both features are available to all MachineTranslation.com users. Usage remains subject to the existing word limits of each plan.
