FloorLine introduces live shop floor tracking for small manufacturers

FloorLine, a manufacturing tools provider, announced on Tuesday the launch of its work floor management software designed for small manufacturing shops. The platform, available immediately, introduces a Live Floor view, replenishment features, and a free tier. The company said the product addresses the need for affordable, real-time visibility into production operations, a capability that has traditionally been accessible only to larger manufacturers with substantial information technology budgets.

Live Floor view provides real-time visibility

The centerpiece of the release is the Live Floor view, which displays the status of workstations, machines, and active jobs across the shop floor in a single dashboard. According to FloorLine, the view updates continuously as operators log production events, allowing supervisors to identify bottlenecks, track job progress, and respond to disruptions without manual data collection. The company said the interface is designed to be used on standard tablets and desktop computers, reducing the need for specialized hardware.

Replenishment features target material shortages

FloorLine has also incorporated replenishment capabilities that monitor material consumption and generate alerts when stock levels fall below defined thresholds. The company said the feature is intended to help small shops avoid unplanned downtime caused by material shortages and to streamline communication between the shop floor and purchasing staff. Replenishment requests can be routed to designated personnel and tracked through completion, according to the company.

Free tier lowers barrier to entry

The software is available under a free tier that includes core tracking and replenishment functions for a limited number of users and workstations. FloorLine said the free tier is intended to give small manufacturers an opportunity to evaluate the platform without a financial commitment. Paid plans with additional capacity and advanced features are also offered, though the company did not disclose pricing details in its announcement.

Industry context and availability

The launch comes as small manufacturers face increasing pressure to improve operational efficiency and adopt digital tools that were once considered too costly or complex. FloorLine said the platform was developed in consultation with small shop owners and is designed to be deployed without extensive training or information technology support. The software is available directly from the company. For more information, visit the FloorLine website or check out the Demo Shop.
