Report

Melbourne, Victoria – 11 August 2026 — Efficient Upgrades has added the NEOVOLT BW-BAT-9.6P 9.6kWh lithium battery to its residential energy storage range, increasing the number of battery storage options available for Australian residential energy systems.

The NEOVOLT BW-BAT-9.6P is a lithium battery designed for residential energy storage applications. The system uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO₄) battery technology and incorporates a Battery Management System (BMS) for monitoring and managing battery operation.

The battery has a stated 9.6kWh usable capacity and an IP65-rated enclosure. These specifications are relevant to residential energy storage installations where battery capacity, monitoring and enclosure protection are among the technical considerations during system selection.

Residential battery storage is increasingly being considered alongside rooftop solar photovoltaic systems. Solar panels generate electricity during daylight hours, while household electricity demand can continue outside those periods. Battery storage provides a method of retaining some surplus electricity generated by a solar system for later use, depending on the system configuration and household energy requirements.

The suitability of a battery system can vary between properties. Factors such as existing solar capacity, household electricity consumption, installation location, electrical configuration and expected energy usage should be considered when assessing a residential battery installation.

The NEOVOLT battery has been added to Efficient Upgrades' existing residential energy portfolio, which includes solar panels, battery storage, ducted air conditioning, split system air conditioning and heat pump hot water systems.

The addition reflects the growing range of energy technologies available for residential applications in Victoria. Battery systems can be configured differently depending on the property's existing solar equipment and electricity requirements.
